Last night’s 27dinner was one of the best. It was fantastic to catch up again with old friends. Meet new old friends (the Twitter kind) and meeting new interesting people! Hell, I’ve made so much lunch and coffee dates last night, I’m pretty sure my schedule is full until next year.
There is just nothing that beat social networking in the flesh. No matter how often we interact online, the best way to cement relationships are still face to face.
Thank you Dave and Chris for organizing this fabulous get together. To all the cool people that were there, we’ll gradually catch up over the coming couple of months. ;) Specially looking forward to a board meeting with Uno and Paul. WAAAAVES!
If you for some reason were unable to make it last night, (may I say you missed out big time…) you have to check out a couple of things:
The Bookmarks. Adrian from Habari and Ben from Stonewall told everyone a bit more about The Bookmarks competition. What is The Bookmarks?
The Bookmarks will reward creativity, results and online media excellence. Have you performed miracles, or come up with a concept that really worked for your client or business? Have you come up with the most amazing creative execution that wowed users and got real results for advertisers? Or have you as a publisher achieved the balance between commercial success and audience appeal?
As they explained it, The Bookmarks serves more as motivation to push the boundaries in digital and to recognize the people who has done so brilliantly the past year. They invited people to enter next year’s event. Ben also explained quite in depth what the judging criteria would be. Awesome, guys. Looking forward seeing you there! Oh, and Adrian promised to buy the beer for everyone attending the event. Did I understand you correct, Adrian? If so, be prepared dude. We can drink a stunning amount of those! ;)
Next was Benjamin from eBucks being questioned by Mike Stopforth. Very, very interesting to see where virtual currency is going. Interesting, yet very tricky business. Must say, we accumulate our eBucks to December and then use them as our Xmas shopping money. :) Looking forward to that…
Some cool give aways… Check this model.
Last up was a really inspiring guy called David Grier talking about past and upcoming fundraising events. More on this a little later as it is awesome…
Guys, all I can say is see you at the next one.

Was a great evening, my first 27dinner event and won’t be my last.
What company sponsored/makes those cool Twitter TShirts again? I was way in the back so couldn’t see anything at all and the sounds was poor, rekon I’ll maybe get one for myself, not that I am that big on Twitter but hey – something cool to wear.

Mike, it was RSA Web that sponsored those shirts. http://rsaweb.co.za/ Ask them, I’m sure they’ll oblige. Rob is a great guy!
