I grew up in Scarborough and these guys were regulars, baboon spiders and scorps too.
Was away this weekend in the Overberg and found one in the kitchen of the shack I’m renovating, didn’t think to photo it, should have though, nice shot.
Ah yes. A common mistake. See, this is not a rain spider. This is the lesser known west-northern Congolese stone crunching baboon fighting crocodile spider. A very rare find in this part of the world. You should see this baby do backflips.
