Hasselblad DSLR camera now even more affordable…
by Stii
In all honesty, I’ve never even heard of a Hasselblad camera.
I got a mail from AppleCart saying:
If you thought you coulldn’t afford a Hasselblad… Think Again
Right. They only sell for… wait for it… for R167 900! What a bargain! NOT
A friend of mine sent me this comparison between the Hasselblad H2 with Phase One P45+ back and a Canon G10. Considering that the Hasselblad has a whopping 39 Megapixel resolution, do you think that the price difference is REALLY worth it? I sure don’t, but then again, I’m no photographer! Here is a screenshot of the mail. Click it for the bigger picture… Unbelievable!

I’m currently dreaming of getting a G10, will still be a long long long while though ;)
Comparing a Hasselblad to a Canon G10 is kinda like comparing a Bentley to a Fiat Uno.
@Steve seriously though, can it be THAT good?! You’re quite the photographer. So, can it?
Yes, but like most things the question is whether you need it. The Hasselblad is primarily used as a studio camera by photographers that shot food, fashion, etc. Because it is a medium format camera with a substantially larger frame size than the 35mm frame of even the highest end Canon and Nikon DSLR’s it delivers exceptional high-quality capable of being blown up to huge sizes while retaining detail. It’s sensor dimensions are 44mm x 33mm compared to 35mm x 24mm for 35mm and only 7.6mm x 5.7mm for the G10.
But if you are never going to blow your images up larger than A4 or A3 there is not much point in going for a higher specced camera, unless it delivers something that you specifically need. Just like a Bentley will get you from point A to point B, so will the Uno.
See this post for more info on the Hasselblad and this offer.
Nice! il put it on my xmas wishlist ;)
