Idols. The good, the bad and the ugly
by Stii
The Good
MNET admitted there was a fuck-up and admitted that the results of Idols could change, irrespective of the repercussions. They owned up, and hats off to them. Also kudo’s for not ruining one of those kids’ lives. Almost humane… Giving both equal opportunities and prizes. Well handled.
The Bad
“World first! We have two winners!” Are you shitting me?! Seriously, do you have rocks for brains? How the hell could there be two official winners? On the one side, I feel that MNET did the honorable thing to give Jason Hartman what Sasha-Lee Davids got without making it a messy, greasy scandal. That was the right thing to do. In fact, that was the ONLY thing to do! Thing is, right through the competition, whenever I watched (which wasn’t much), the judges kept saying “there can only be one Idol/Winner”. And technically, there is. And his name is Jason, not Sasha-Lee. Come on MNET, thus far you’ve been fair, why now not all of a sudden? Would you have done the same if it turned out Jason lost anyway? I don’t think so!
The Ugly
People’s comments on this subject… Read them here at News24. They are ugly, yet astoundingly funny. Almost as entertaining as Youtube comments! :) Also, equally ugly, the party who fucked up by not being able to handle the SMS load. Not sure who is to blame for that.
Hehehe, we have a winner, but we have a draw.
