There are already talks that Google Chrome is coming out of BETA, yet no sign or indication of when the Mac or Linux versions would be released. This is highly unlike Google as Justin noted yesterday, they (Google) are known for keeping products in BETA for years!
If you REALLY want to check out what Chromium looks like on Mac or Linux you can download Codeweavers’ Crossover Chromium. (Chromium is the browser Google based Chrome on) Download it here.
It runs. Thats about the only good thing I can say about it. As you can see in the images below, it has a distinct Windows look and feel… Ugly as hell! It behaves a little weird, but I realised that normal Apple keys don’t behave as they should. It behaves like Apple Keys would on Windows. BAD! For example, if I press Alt+i to get a ^ on a letter, it creates a <em> tag. The scrolling is odd. Not as smooth as you’d expect a Mac to be. It is SLOW!
Okay, admittingly, its not Google Chrome in the true sense of the word. I’ll forgive you Google. Oh, and this post was written in Chromium. I think I’ll wait for the REAL McCoy…

Admittedly, it’s not the “Real McCoy”, but our purpose was to demonstrate that we could move a Windows app *rapidly* to Mac if called upon. In that sense, it was a success as a proof-of-concept. However, we freely admit that it isn’t as polished as the work we’ve done on, say, MS Office or Steam.

Hi Jon,
Thanks, but I think I came across as being critical towards the work you are doing, which I’m not! I think it is great! I just think Chromium isn’t.
FYI, I’d love for you to create a crossover for PSPad

Nah, I didn’t take it that way. We wish it were more polished, too, but that wasn’t really the goal.
Cheers,
