Not only is the SIberian Husky one of the oldest dog breeds in history. But, is also closely related to wolves and pull sleds through snow in frigid temperatures. The Siberian Husky was bred by the Chukchi people some 27,000 years ago so they could have some help when they hunt. But, when 1909 came around, the Siberian Huskies made their debut to America by helping with transportation during the Nome Gold Rush. Huskies are a dog breed who are not only fun loving pets, but amazing hunters and sled dogs. If it weren’t for these guys, we would have lost a whole town in Alaska to diptheria. They successfully pulled sleds 1000 miles to the place that had the medicine and back. Siberian Huskies are also known for sled racing because they pull the sleds the whole race. And, ever wonder why Siberian Huskies are the only ones who pull sleds?
